the Silver Crescent

 The idea of the Silver Crescent sprang into the mind of one of its founders, Silver Phoenix, in 2000. The idea was that there could be a powerful Coven of spiritual practitioners in the Michigan area to help guide and protect those in the magickal community. He was soon overcome with the vision of a School, where young Seekers and even seasoned practitioners, could come to further their Craft. Silver Phoenix has always been mystified and entranced by ancient lore and writings regarding mysticism and magickal practices.

The Silver Crescent began as a means to help and serve the magickal community. We sought to offer aid to those who needed it and those who were just beginning to follow the path. The Silver Crescent offers magickal and spiritual aid to all in need.

"I feel that in today's society and community of magick practitioners, spiritualists, wiccans, pagans, witches and others, that we have lost alot of the fundamentals that made Magick so potent and so powerful. We have ignored the disciplines of ritual, and the honoring of the Olde Ones, for a simplified practice of Magick and affirmation, that many times does not work to the expectations of the practitioner. They in turn are disappointed and leave the path, never able to reach their true potential; being unable to serve the Light in the grid that needs so desperately to be raised and healed. Practitioners must learn how to work with these energies again, with reverence and respect. There is a reason we call it 'weaving the magick'. Soon, others who felt this same need became part of the Silver Crescent and have helped it grow. The Silver Crescent is now a School, Coven, Apothecary, Trade Service, Network of Healers and Seers, and more. We are believers; believers in better world, in a better future. Believers in a path that is true in Love and Light, in goodness and hope. Believers in fairies and dragons, devas and elementals. Believers in Magick!

The Coven of the Silver Crescent is a traditional Coven in many senses. The Coven takes its practices and rituals very serious. maintaining a powerful structure to its rituals and spells. The Shadow Council, an elite core group who founded the Coven, help to ensure that the energy remains harmonious and works toward the greatest good.

The Coven's Secrets are closely guarded and to insure this, members are trained and advanced through three degrees.

The First Degree

Initiates and Seekers enter into the Coven as a First Degree Member. First Degree members are trained and taught in the ways of the Coven for a Year and A Day Study. This is to insure that all members have the same knowledge and skills when performing coven work. This also allows members the chance to observe coven rituals and rites before participating.

The Second Degree

Members in the Second Degree are fully active and participate in Coven ritual and rites during Esbats, Sabbaths and other festivities. Second Degree members are called upon for helping those in the First Degree and acting as mentors and guides. This insures that students learn from teachers, as well as teacher from student.

The Third Degree

The Third Degree consists of the Priesthood. Priests and Priestesses are those who make up the Third Degree. Members must have studied for at least 3 years under the Coven of the Silver Crescent to obtain this status in our Coven. The Priests and Priestesses are legally ordained and able to perform legal ceremony. The Third Degree Priest or Priestess are the only members, beyond the Shadow Council, with access to the Coven's Book of Shadows, Grimoire, and Scrolls of Mystic Art.

The Shadow Council

The Shadow Council is composed of the core group of founding members who helped bring to light the Coven of the Silver Crescent. Through the hierarchy of the Coven, the Council makes the final decisions regarding the safety, advancements and well being of the Coven. The Council initiates or banishes Coven members, instructs the mentors, guards the Coven Secrets and rules the final judgment on Coven matters. The Shadow Council works closely with the Elders of the Coven to insure that the best choices are made for the Coven members.

The Elders

 The Elders are Coven Members who have been at the Second or Third Degree for five or more years with the Coven of the Silver Crescent. The Elders may be of any age or gender. It is felt that after five years of study in the Coven, that members shall have the knowledge and training to better the Coven and that of its members.

The Silver Crescent Spiritual Store and Apothecary is located at 140 Brady St Allegan MI 49010. We are open seven days a week, from 10am to 8pm. We carry a wide range of products and provide an extensive array of services. We hold weekly meetings and discussions, ranging on Lore and History of Traditions and Holidays, to hands on Crafting of Magickal Wares and Products, such as Amulets, Corn Dollies and more. 

The Silver Crescent is owned and operated by two of the founding members of the Coven, Silver Phoenix and Luna Crescent. The Store is assisted by other members of the Coven, to insure that all those who visit receive the most knowledgeable and respected advice.
